Review checklist

Review a Shopify API upgrade

Use the evidence to decide what needs testing in your integration.

  1. Check the version actually serving your app

Compare the version in your request URL with the X-Shopify-API-Version response header. Shopify can serve an accessible version when the requested one has retired.

  2. Inspect the schema channel and changed field

Open the finding's source and evidence. Review the field, mutation argument, or enum against your GraphQL queries. Keep unstable and release-candidate changes separate from stable-version work.

  3. Verify deadlines and test the migration

Check Shopify's API health report and official changelog for required work. Test queries and mutations against the intended version, then declare the operations and fields you use in Detektu.

Change model

How Shopify ships changes

The release patterns that shape your integration risk.

Shopify releases versioned APIs quarterly and supports each stable version for at least twelve months. Release-candidate and unstable schemas can change before release. A preview removal needs different treatment from a change affecting the stable version your app uses.

Detektu monitors the Admin GraphQL schemas listed below and records changes to each source over time. A deprecated field does not by itself establish a removal date. Check Shopify's official versioning schedule and changelog for deadlines and migration guidance. Storefront and other Shopify APIs are outside this catalog product's coverage.
